While tile sheds water during a rainstorm, it is not a waterproof barrier that keeps the water out of your home. The actual waterproof barrier is the underlayment. Whether you just need a new underlayment replacement or an entire new tile roof we can help.
We only install high quality underlayment underneath the tile roof, they underlayment can vary on quality and application. We only use high grade superior underlayment on all our projects. Synthetic underlayment is a popular product and has a longer warranty. There are different types of tiles available but concrete tile is the most common and will be more durable around the many golf courses in Arizona. We have a great relationship with the two tile manufactures (Eagle and Boral) here in Arizona.
There are many styles and colors to choose from. The tile itself is incredibly durable and will last a lifetime if properly installed. Tile application is a great way to protect the underlayment from the elements especially the UV from the glaring sun in Arizona. When installing new underlayment but re-using the existing tile there is on average a 10% breakage rate of the existing tile when it is removed. Usually in this case the tile is older or was manufactured to be a little less durable on the corners.
The ongoing complication is that many of the tile manufactures have since gone out of business leaving only two tile manufactures left in the valley to match up tile color and patterns. We will do our best to locate the tile pattern and color match the best we can, however it is not always a perfect match, therefore, we have to get creative in placing everything back to gather by maybe hiding the new tiles in an area that you can’t see from the street.
